Liangjiang shows off city image with six new functional towns

A development of six new towns has begun in Liangjiang. As the first open development area in the Chinese mainland, Liangjiang New Area combines the core functions of constructing a central city with the harmonious development of secondary and tertiary industries.

According to the plan, the new area will be 300 square kilometers large, and will have a population of three hundred million. It will try to become an internationally famous district with beautiful views, convenient transport, modern industries, and a harmonious atmosphere.

The six towns will include Jiangbei Finance Town, Yuelai Exhibition Town, Lijia Trade Town, Yufu International Car Town, Longxing Travel, Culture Town and Shuitu Technology Town.

Jiangbeizui: Finance Town

Half way through its construction,the town covers an area of 400 square kilometers. Already one of the bridges in Liangjiang New Area has been opened for use, and has become a fast route connecting Jiangbei Town, Danzishi on the south shore and the relevant central business district (CBD) covering Jiefangbei.

Yuelai: Exhibition Town

Yuelai aims to have a stadium in the world's top 10 and the second largest in China, as well as being the biggest stadium in the west of the country. It is also aiming for direct revenues from the exhibition industry approaching 2.5 billion yuan every year and bring in revenues of 20 billion yuan ($3.21) to related industries. Yuelai: Exhibition Town will host an exhibition with an area of over 120 square kilometers each year since it was established in 2013.

Lijia: Trade Town

This is located north of the Lijia Peninsula and on the banks of the River Jialing, about five kilometers away from the Yuelai Exhibition Center. It's also about 15 kilometers away from Jiangbei International Airport. The transport here is convenient with Zhouyu Highway, Jinyu Road and Libai Road near by. Lijia Trade Town will become an international commerce, consuming and travel center, with its collection of service industries.

Yufu: Automobile Town

Aiming at becoming an Automobile Town with an area of 40 square kilometers and an investment of 150 billion yuan, Yufu Automobile Town has aspirations to become the largest mini-car production base in the world, and the largest production base for cars, typified by new energy automobiles, mainly manufactured mini-cars and supplementary high-grade cars.

Longxing: Travel and Culture Town

With an area of 30 square kilometers and an investment of 120 billion yuan, Longxing wants to build a leisure town covering an area of 2000 square kilometers. Already sixty six old buildings on Minguo Street have been put to use. In addition, the Church Square, legation quarters and other feature buildings are under construction. At the same time, an international tourism products exhibition center, high-grade artworks and other projects have attracted investments from merchants, and it is expected that they will be constructed by the end of the year and put into use next year.

Shuitu: High-Tech Town

With buildings covering an area of 15 million square kilometers, Shuitu High-Tech Town has a total investment of 100 billion yuan and covers an area of 25 square kilometers. The international cloud computing service center located in Shuitu High-Tech Town began operations in February this year. After construction is completed, the project featuring cloud computing will accelerate the globalization of the inland city, and also lay the foundations for outsourcing services, off shore data processing, international settlements and other modern industries.
