Chongqing is a typical city with hills and rivers. Yangtze River and Jialing River run around the main city. Chongqing cannot develop without further bridge construction.

Chaotianmen Bridge

The Chaotianmen Bridge, a road-rail bridge over the Yangtze River in the city of Chongqing, opened on April 29, 2009. The bridge is the world’s longest continuous steel truss arch bridge with a main span of 552 meters and a total length of 1,741 meters. It links three central business districts of Chongqing: Jiefangbei CBD, Jiangbei Town and Danzishi CBD. [Photo/liangjiang.gov.cn]

Qianximen Bridge

The Qianximen Bridge, crosses the Jialing River with a cable-stayed main span that is 312 meters, and connects the Jiangbei and the Yuzhong districts. It has the longest stay cable of both bridges, measuring 256.85-meters long. The bridge and Dongshuimen Bridge, known collectively as the Twin River Bridges, are a pair of bridges that form a road and rail connection in Chongqing. The connection opened in 2014 and consists of two cable-stayed bridges and a tunnel across the Yuzhong peninsula. [Photo/liangjiang.gov.cn]
