Chongqing's top 10 2018 economic figures selected

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Reform and Opening Up and to showcase Chongqing's economic and social achievements, Liangjiang New Area and Chongqing Daily Newspaper Group have started the selection process for "Chongqing's Top 10 Economic Figures of 2018". "Liangjiang New Area's Top 10 Economic Figures of 2018" will also be released.

The selection process will end on Jan 27, 2019 and the top 10 economic figures of Liangjiang, along with the advanced manufacturing growth award and the modern service growth award, will be officially announced that same day.

This marks the first time that Liangjiang has held a selection like this. According to the head of Liangjiang, such activities will help the area play a leading role in driving Chongqing's economic and social developments. The selection will honor leading figures in many industries and hopefully inspire people to pursue development.

As the leader of the city's economic and social development, Liangjiang has attracted a number of famous domestic enterprises and tens of thousands of medium and small-sized enterprises since the implementation of reform and opening-up.

Statistics show that by last October, Liangjiang had attracted 74,618 market subjects, and had a total registered capital of 981.4 billion yuan ($142 billion), year-on-year growths of 27.51 percent and 11.53 percent, respectively.

The new area is constantly improving in order to attract advanced global enterprises. So far, 147 of the top 500 enterprises in the world have settled in the new area. This accounts for 52 percent of the city's total number of top 500 enterprises.
