The Chongqing Chang'an automobile company released an "all-in-one" electric drive system on January 18, which will start being used in vehicles in 2020.

In addition to Chang'an, Sokon Group subsidiary SF Motors has also developed new energy vehicles with the help of a vehicle range extender.

The head of the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information said that Chang'an and Sokon are great representatives for the promotion of technology-driven product development. Driven by intelligent and green manufacturing, Chongqing's automobile industry is currently in the process of revitalizing.

By 2020, Chongqing is expected to be producing more than 3 million vehicles per year, achieving a total output value of more than 540 billion yuan ($80 billion). By 2022, the city is expected to produce about 400,000 new energy vehicles and 1.2 million intelligent internet-connected vehicles.

The city will aggressively develop batteries, motors, controllers, vehicle control systems, electric brakes, and steering systems. Sokon has already signed a contract with Alibaba and Lifan has cooperated with Baidu to bring about a revolution in the intelligent vehicle industry.
