The inauguration ceremony for 10 community sports parks in Liangjiang New Area, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality was held on Jan 5, attended by Du Xueyong, deputy head of Chongqing municipal bureau of sports, and Pi Tao, deputy director of the administrative committee of Liangjiang New Area.

The community sports parks were built on vacant urban lands and existing public fitness squares, and have a total construction area nearing 18,000 square meters. The parks will serve over 300,000 local residents.

Every community sports park is equipped with standard courts for basketball and badminton. There are also areas for table tennis, intelligent fitness facilities, and walking trails, to meet the diversified needs of citizens.

Liangjiang is currently building the "1+N" public sports facility and service supply system, and plans to build two or three more such community sports parks this year.
