AT&S begins operation in Liangjiang New Area

AT&S Chongqing will begin production in the first quarter of 2016, liangjiang.gov.cn reported.

AT&S will become the only company in China that can produce packaging and loading plate for semi conductors. It plays a significant role in the industrial chain of the electric information industry.

AT&S is located in the Yufu Development Zone of Liangjiang New Area, on 188 acres. Its core business is production of semi-conductor loading plate.

The electronic information industry has experienced rapid development in recent years in Liangjiang New Area.

AT&S Chongqing was established in 2011 and was AT&S’s second subsidiary in China.

To date, AT&S Chongqing Company has invested 170 million yuan into environmental protection. It has also formed an environment and health safety team composed of 60 engineers and technicians.

AT&S has achieved level one of the China Electronic printed-circuit board clean manufacturing standard and reached the advanced international standard. By mid 2017, AT&S Chongqing Company’s investment is expected to increase from $350 million to $480 million. AT&S is adopting innovative modes to protect precious natural resources and reduce waste emission while increasing application of renewable energy.

In the second half of 2014, the Party’s Chongqing Municipal Committee and the Chongqing Municipal Government designated electronic core parts as one of ten emerging industries. Electronic information companies form an ever increasing share of leading Chongqing companies, and constitute an important industry in Liangjiang New Area.

Other companies in addition to AT&S had production hikes in 2015. BOE delivered its OGS projects on April 18 last year with a total investment of 32.8 billion yuan. Chongqing will continue to work on home appliances and integrated circuits.
