Liangjiang's industrial layout

Updated:2020-04-07

Liangjiang New Area in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality focuses on long-term development and has planned a "one center, four belts" industrial layout, which develops the modern service industry in the south, stresses urban comprehensive functions in the midwest, and develops the advanced manufacturing industry in the northeast.

"One center" refers to the financial center focusing on the three core industries of innovative finance, information R&D, and commerce. It accelerates the gathering of scientific and technological research institutions, scientific and technological service platforms, as well as high-end scientific and technological talents by developing design, creativity, headquarters economy, and real estate.

"Four belts" refers to the urban functional industry belt, high-tech industry belt, logistics processing industry belt, and advanced manufacturing industry belt.

The urban functional industry belt focuses on the development of conferences and exhibitions, automobiles, electronic information, instrumentation, as well as biomedicine. It aims to build the area into a livable modern city.

The high-tech industry belt highlights the functions of R&D, innovation, as well as low-carbon and clean manufacturing. It focuses on new materials, biomedicine, electronic information, instrumentation, and R&D, while developing industries like high-quality residential and leisure services.

The logistics processing industry belt aims to improve the functions of bonded logistics, export processing, and transportation. It focuses on electronic information, warehousing, logistics, and bonded processing, while developing service industries like as international procurement and transit trade.

It accelerates infrastructure construction, such as Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport, Cuntan Port, Guoyuan Port, and Chongqing North Railway Station to become a large scale bonded logistics and export processing industrial cluster in the inland area.

The advanced manufacturing industry belt serves as a platform for strategic emerging industries and national advanced manufacturing industries by focusing on the development of automobiles, high-end equipment, new materials, energy conservation, environmental protection, and the next generation of information products.

Based on the Yufu modern logistics functional area and the Longshi advanced manufacturing functional area, the belt aims to build one of China's most influential advanced manufacturing industrial clusters and a national important strategic emerging industry base.
