During the first 10 months of this year, Guoyuan port in Liangjiang New Area, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality, handled 275,000 standard containers and 11.16 million metric tons of freight.
The rail-water intermodal transportation network transported 10,217 standard containers during this period – the first time the number hit 10,000 at Guoyuan port.
Since Guoyuan port was approved as a national logistics hub last September, the direct express water transportation line between Chongqing and Shanghai has operated twice daily, with transportation efficiency 30 percent higher than regular cargo ships.
Guoyuan port has enhanced the fusion of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, China Railway Express, Chongqing-Manzhouli-Russia freight railway and the Yangtze River waterway.
Guoyuan port can transport cargo across the country using the water, railway, highway and air networks.
Meanwhile, the port has expanded its cooperation with key national and international logistics hubs, cooperated with inland areas to establish dry ports, and implemented a digital and paperless goods delivery process to improve transportation efficiency.
With the construction of more traffic infrastructure, Guoyuan port has cooperated with Chongqing's industrial parks. The Corning glass logistics center of West China, which settled in Chongqing Guoyuan Bonding Logistics Center this year, has exported goods worth more than 700 million yuan through Guoyuan port.
