Technologies not only raise industrial productivity, but also transform people's lives. The Chongqing Big Data Development Bureau and the Chongqing Civil Affairs Bureau recently launched 53 smart community application programs.
Smart community devices have penetrated every aspect of people's lives. Take Baima community in Liangjiang New Area's Lijia sub-district as an example. Residents previously had to travel long distances to large hospitals to know whether or not they had chronic diseases in their respiratory systems.
But since the medical devices for pulmonary function tests were installed by the Nanpeng Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, people have been able to undergo such tests in their local communities. Data from body examination reports is then transmitted to the Second People's Hospital of Chongqing Liangjiang New Area, where doctors can scrutinize reports with an AI-aided review system at a faster speed. Patients can get their test reports within 15 minutes.
As a key demonstration zone in Chongqing's "smart city" initiative, Lijia sub-district has been upgrading public infrastructure with intelligent devices, including 24-hour unmanned smart libraries, where residents can borrow and return books completely by themselves. The sub-district is now also working on intelligent furniture application system programs, which will allow residents to achieve remote control over lights, curtains, and electric appliances in their homes.
