The 2021 China Auto Supply Chain Conference was held on Oct 15 in Liangjiang New Area by the China Association of Automobile Manufactures and the Chongqing Liangjiang New Area Administrative Committee.
With the purpose of discussing policies related to the automobile industry, promoting exchanges in relevant technologies, showcasing the latest innovative achievements, and boosting communications between domestic and foreign communities, the conference has become a major platform for governments, enterprises, universities, and research institutions looking to discuss issues in China's automobile supply chain.
Li Jie, deputy director of the Liangjiang administrative committee, said that the new area has built Yufu New City and Longxing New City as main battlefields for the automobile supply chain, and will make full use of the Liangjiang Coordinative Zone, the Liangjiang Digital Economy Industrial Park, and the Lijia Yuelai Smart Park.
The chain chief system will continue to play a significant role in boosting the automobile industry while the new area is ramping up efforts to construct a State-level internet of vehicles pilot zone, encourage the demonstrated application of autonomous driving technology, and strive to form a world-class automobile industrial cluster that boasts a total output of 300 billion yuan ($45 billion).
Fu Bingfeng, president of the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers, said that during the first half of this year, China has led the world's auto market through innovations in its new energy vehicles. The second half of this year will see a focus on intelligent connected vehicles, and China is expected to seize the opportunity to raise auto supply chain levels through coordinated efforts.
The 2021 Development Report on China's Auto Spare Parts and the 2021 list of Advanced Innovative Achievements in China's Auto Supply were also released during the event.
