Renhe Primary School in Liangjiang New Area, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality, was awarded the titles of national school with a specialty in chess and chess talent reserve in Liangjiang on March 29, closely followed by a visit from Xie Jun, vice president of the International Chess Federation, on the same day.

Before Renhe Primary School got these two significant titles, it had already been a national school that was strong in football and tennis, as well as a municipal school with sci-tech characteristics.

When a rolling chess competition began during Xie's visit, she competed against more than 20 students. "Although I lost the game today, it is really my honor to play with a world champion," said Tang Wenqi, one of the competing students.

Later that day, Xie also interacted with students and parents, and discussed how to become a professional chess player while also giving tips on how to play chess well.
