Vibracoustic – a leading global automotive noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) expert providing innovative solutions for all current and future mobility challenges of automotive customers – has invested in a shock absorber manufacturing plant in Liangjiang New Area, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality, which was put into use on July 18.

The company has 40 production bases and technology centers strategically located in 17 nations across the globe, boasting an approximate workforce of 12,000 adept individuals. As per official records, the company's revenue for the fiscal year 2022 amassed a noteworthy 2.5 billion euros ($2.8 billion).

The project involves an investment of 170 million yuan, with a construction area of 16,400 square meters, and will mainly produce NVH products.

"Relying on Vibracoustic's rich global manufacturing experience, the Chongqing plant has achieved sustainable manufacturing equipment and production process," said Tao Dongming, general manager of the plant, "We are also planning to build a water-based adhesive production line here to minimize the carbon emissions," he added.

Tao was confident about the plant's future development, citing that Chongqing has a sound industrial foundation and a complete industrial chain.

Notably, the penetration rate of new energy vehicles (NEVs) in the region of Liangjiang has reached 23 percent. This noteworthy achievement is further underscored by the fact that the average price of a locally-produced NEV stands at a commendable 170,000 yuan. As a forward-thinking and dynamic new area, Liangjiang is resolutely committed to enhancing its industrial system and development ecology in the realm of intelligent connected and NEVs. To this end, the focus will be on essential areas that are critical to the success of this endeavor, such as power batteries, automotive software, automotive-grade chips, autonomous driving, wire-controlled chassis, and intelligent cockpits.
