The Intelligent Safety Conference China 2023 kicked off in Southwest China's Chongqing on July 17, at which top scholars, including six academicians from 13 countries, appeared.

The event lasted three days, featuring more than 60 industrial reports. On the first day, the opening ceremony and themed speech for the meeting were arranged, followed by special forums focusing on intended function safety, human safety, information safety, testing and assessment, intelligent protection, and chips and chip security on the second day, and free exchanges about AI technologies among international young scientists on the third day.

Li Jun, an academician from the Chinese Academy of Engineering and professor from Tsinghua University, believed that in the face of the problems and challenges posed by autonomous driving, it is necessary to build an intelligent connected vehicle (ICV) safety system to ensure the safe implementation of advanced autonomous driving.

At the societal level, under the government leadership, it is essential to establish high-level ICV autonomous driving safety certification standards and regulatory norms and to build a social ecosystem platform integrating smart cities, intelligent transportation, and intelligent vehicles to implement vehicle-infrastructure-cloud integrated technology solutions. At the industrial platform level, it is necessary to collaborate with vehicle manufacturers and auto component providers to establish unified standards and norms for developing and certifying autonomous driving safety systems.

In his speech, Wang Shuxin, president of Chongqing University, cited the safety issue of autonomous driving as a global focal point that demands strengthened global cooperation.

Wu Jiangxing, director of the National Digital Switching System Engineering & Technological R&D Center, highlighted the vast shock given by cyberspace to traditional function safety.

Zhang Xiaoyu, vice chairman of Changan Auto, observed that the concept of new vehicles is evolving from a machine to a human-like intelligent robot.
