The Chongqing Municipal Economy and Information Technology Commission, in conjunction with the Chongqing Administration for Market Regulation, recently released the Guidelines for the Construction of the Chongqing Intelligent Connected Vehicle (ICV) Standard System.
The guidelines aim to promote the establishment of a well-structured, scientifically sound ICV standard system that can adapt to the unique conditions of Chongqing, focusing mainly on basic and general specifications, product and technology applications, and operations and services. In total, there are 88 international standards, 173 national standards, 73 industry standards, 20 local standards, and 95 group standards covered in the guidelines.
For example, the operations and services section includes operational scenarios, operational safety, testing evaluation and tools, and innovative applications. Taking into account Chongqing's industrial foundation and development advantages, the guidelines propose that local standards be developed for technology specifications for unmanned shuttle bus operations.

As the first in West China and the fourth of its kind in the country, the Chongqing (Liangjiang New Area) National Internet of Vehicles Pioneer Zone is being constructed at a faster speed.
On Aug 2, Chongqing announced 33 roads for the open testing and application of ICVs, 18 of which are in the Liangjiang Collaborative Innovation Zone, with a total length of about 52.5 kilometers.
Twelve types of ICVs, including robotaxis and smart delivery vehicles used within industrial parks, are operating on these roads, integrating various transportation modes.
