Guoyuan Port National Logistics Hub in Liangjiang New Area, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality, registered 24.93 million metric tons of cargo throughput over the first 11 months of this year, with its influence on the whole of western China further enhanced.

Over this period, the port dispatched and received 1,202 voyages on the Shanghai-Chongqing shipping express route, as well as 623 trips of the freight train through the new western land-sea corridor, up 9.9 percent and 42.9 percent respectively year-on-year.

The new area has also coordinated with Chongqing Customs to roll out a slew of innovative measures, including measures to reduce freight charges, effectively alleviating foreign traders' shipping costs.

As of the end of November, Chongqing Customs had received a total of 92 declarations for this measure, resulting in a total deduction of freight charges of 2.3 million yuan ($320,390) and a reduction of tax fees of 260,000 million yuan, benefiting 14 enterprises.

Up to now, the designated supervision areas for imported grain, meat, and fruit at Guoyuan Port have all been approved and put into use.

In addition, with the implementation of a series of new policies and measures such as direct deliveries at shipside, direct loading upon arrival, and tax refunds at the port of departure, the business environment at Guoyuan Port has been greatly improved.
