The 2024 Building Material Purchaser Alliance Conference took place in Liangjiang New Area, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality, on April 8.

The event aimed to give full play to the advantages of government-enterprise cooperation, and press forward with the upgrading of the industrial chain through in-depth exchanges and discussions.

In a bid to create a top-notch business environment, the new area has initiated the new round of market-oriented reforms in building material procurement, pledging that its construction materials are open to all the market entities, and are not restricted to certain regions or sectors.

Du Jun, president of AUPUP – a third-party B2B building materials procurement e-commerce trading platform, and Shi Jian, vice general manager of Chongqing Liangjiang New Area Development and Investment Group Co, delivered keynote speeches at the conference. Additionally, 87 construction material suppliers inked cooperation contracts with the new area.

The event also features an award ceremony and a summit forum, in which the 2023 comprehensive indexes of building material suppliers and 2024 construction material guidebook were issued.

Liangjiang is home to 1,065 construction enterprises, and its building industry reported 21.59 billion yuan ($3.04 billion) in added value last year. It is now seeking to create a building material transaction platform, and advance the building material centralized procurement reform.
