In the first quarter of 2024, the cumulative sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) by automaker SERES reached 94,825 units, representing a year-on-year increase of 374.77 percent. In March, its AITO series delivered 31,727 vehicles, 24,598 of which were AITO M7 vehicles, maintaining its position as the best-selling model among Chinese NEVs.

"Innovation means growing in the face of others' disdain and incomprehension," said Zhang Xinghai, chairman of SERES, who views the company's three name changes as the equivalent of three separate entrepreneurial ventures.

In 2022 alone, SERES invested 3.11 billion yuan ($438.51 million) into research and development. As of now, the core R&D investment of the company's AITO series has exceeded 12 billion yuan, and it employs 4,178 research personnel. Currently, SERES holds a staggering 3,741 authorized patents.

First-rate products are produced at first-rate factories. SERES has multiple modern vehicle and component production bases in Liangjiang New Area as well as in Shapingba, Jiangjin, Changshou districts of Chongqing, as well as one in Shiyan city of Hubei.

On Feb 5, SERES's super factory was put into operation in Liangjiang, with over 3,000 robots facilitating key processes and an automation rate of 100 percent. This factory is capable of producing a new car every 30 seconds.

Data indicate that SERES has exported to more than 70 countries and regions in Europe, the Americas, Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, with the cumulative vehicle export exceeding 500,000 units.
