During the May Day holiday, the five key shopping malls in Liangjiang New Area achieved a total sales revenue of 150 million yuan ($21.15 million), with nearly a million visitors. Well-known attractions received nearly 300,000 visitors during this period, generating tourism revenue of nearly 20 million yuan.
At Chongqing Happy Valley, a music festival took place within the park, featuring performances by 11 bands or artists.
At the Chongqing Garden Expo, nearly 10,000 new varieties of roses were unveiled, attracting many citizens and tourists who came to take leisurely walks around the exhibits and appreciate the flowers.
The new area's consumer market was also bustling during the holiday, with the opening of the 2024 China (Chongqing) International Consumer Festival, and the launch of the SASSEUR (Chongqing Liangjiang) Outlets' discount promotions.
At The Ring Shopping Park, the city-level art display Urban Healing Plan was staged, featuring a transparent giant appearing in various poses at The Ring. This giant art installation has attracted many visitors, who stopped to take photos.
