According to a news conference held on July 2, Liangjiang New Area in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality saw an improvement in the quality of its environment this year.

In the first half of the year, there were 166 days with excellent air quality, an increase of 19 days compared to the previous year. The cumulative concentration of PM2.5 was 33 μg/m³, a decrease of 13.2 percent year-on-year.

Focusing on comprehensive measures to prevent and control air pollution, Liangjiang has strived to improve air quality by controlling industrial pollution, traffic pollution, dust pollution, and domestic pollution.

In recent years, Liangjiang has encouraged enterprises to adopt advanced production technologies and equipment to reduce emissions, improve resource utilization efficiency, and pilot clean production audits.

To further enhance energy conservation and emissions reduction among enterprises, Liangjiang has reviewed and helped improve the outdated and rudimentary pollution control processes of some enterprises and helped them apply for central government funding for atmospheric pollution control.

In addition, Liangjiang has strengthened the management of carbon emissions, and created a digital dual-carbon platform integrating enterprise carbon emission accounting and government carbon emission monitoring.
