At the Vibracoustic Chongqing plant in Longsheng New City, Liangjiang New Area, large quantities of automotive shock absorbers roll off production lines daily, destined for vehicle manufacturers in the surrounding area.
Vibracoustic, a leading automotive noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) solutions provider, opened its Chongqing manufacturing plant last July. The plant, which has a construction area of 43,700 square meters, manufactures engine mounts, chassis bushings, vibration isolators, and dampers.
According to Tao Dongming, the general manager of the Chongqing plant, it is a significant part of Vibracoustic's China network.
He added that the project was established in Chongqing because of the city's solid foundation in the automotive industry, thoughtful government support and services, convenient logistics network, and geographic advancement. Given Chongqing's thriving industry of intelligent-connected NEV in recent years, the decision has proved correct.
In the past, most of Vibracoustic's shock absorbers were fabricated for petrol vehicles. Now, considering the growth of intelligent-connected vehicles made in China and Chongqing, the company has shifted its R&D focus to new energy vehicles. According to Tao, since operating in Chongqing, the plant has integrated into the supply chain and manufactured shock absorbers for locally made vehicles.
Tao stressed that market share depends on product quality. Shock absorbers are connected to vehicle maneuverability, stability, and comfort. Vibracoustic's fully automated shock absorber can significantly improve stability control by processing, calculating, and responding in just one millisecond.
The plant's intelligence transformation also enhanced product quality. For example, the factory has built a fully automated surface process line, ensuring an accurate and consistent manufacturing process.
Longsheng New City, where the plant is located, is home to leading car manufacturers like Changan and Seres and over 100 core part suppliers. Its intelligent connected vehicle industry currently boasts an output of 100 billion yuan ($13.81 billion).
