On Nov 23, Liangjiang New Area released an aerospace development action plan at the Aerospace Information Industry Talents Development Conference.

According to the plan, the area seeks to cultivate 20 specialized and innovative enterprises and establish 500 market entities within the aerospace information industry by 2027.

The initiative also aims to create over 10 benchmark application scenarios and develop more than 20 integrated application solutions, with the ultimate goal of generating industry revenue of 100 billion yuan ($13.80 billion).

The plan outlines seven specialized actions, including creating an aerospace information industry ecosystem and establishing a pioneering low-altitude economy demonstration zone to drive high-quality industrial development.

Liangjiang will use its advantages in the general aviation industry to further advance the low-altitude economy. The focus will be on three key areas: infrastructure, application scenarios, and research and manufacturing. The goal is to build a leading low-altitude economic demonstration zone in western China.

One notable initiative is developing and manufacturing eVTOL (electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing) aircraft. The area plans to attract leading enterprises to establish eVTOL R&D and manufacturing facilities, capitalizing on its strengths in the new energy vehicle industry to integrate flying cars into its development strategy.

Changan Automobile, a prominent enterprise in Liangjiang, has already begun demonstration operations and research on manned flying cars. A potential public unveiling is expected in the next few years.

Authorities will also implement various policy measures. "We will integrate land, buildings, scenarios, computing power, and data and introduce special policies to provide multidimensional support in technology, industry, and talent," said a local official.

Additionally, the area will deepen collaboration along the industrial chain, promoting the internationalization of aerospace information enterprises. This includes expanding into overseas markets, particularly those involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, and fostering international cooperation in operations, technology, application demonstration, and talent development.
