The Chongqing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology recently announced the first batch of 42 advanced intelligent factories, including five facilities in Liangjiang New Area.

These facilities are the BOE 6th generation AMOLED display intelligent manufacturing factory, the SERES new energy vehicle intelligent manufacturing factory, the Cummins high horsepower diesel engine intelligent manufacturing factory, the Yazaki smart display instrument intelligent manufacturing factory, and the Changan new energy vehicle intelligent manufacturing factory.

A standout example is the SERES new energy vehicle factory, which employs over 3,000 robots and has achieved full automation in welding and painting processes. The factory uses intelligent technologies to connect manufacturing equipment and data, establishing a monitored processing system that utilizes cloud computing, big data, the Internet of Things, and 5G.

This strong performance could be largely attributed to the implementation of a series of measures rolled out by authorities, including encouraging industrial factories to develop innovative modes and application scenarios for industrial internet using new-generation information technology.

The local government also promoted the enhancement of intelligent manufacturing capabilities by installing advanced manufacturing systems. Eligible companies can receive up to 5 million yuan ($688,371.14) in financial support.

Liangjiang is currently home to 26 intelligent factories and 121 digital workshops.

A representative from the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology emphasized that these identified factories will be integral to the municipality's digital transformation framework. The framework aims to foster deep integration between new-generation information technology and the manufacturing industry.
