Li Tingyi, director of the Liangjiang New Area education bureau, unveiled ambitious plans for the coming year on Dec 13 at the 2024 cultural exchange event for Chinese and foreign teachers in Liangjiang New Area.
Li highlighted that Liangjiang aims to establish a new international education framework, "One Park, Three Zones", to attract more tech talents and foreign experts to work and live in the area.
The "One Park" refers to the International Education Park, while the "Three Zones" include the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity International Cooperation Park, Chongqing Sino-Foreign Cultural Exchange Innovation Zone, and Liangjiang Collaborative Innovation Zone.
Liangjiang is poised to become a hub for educational excellence, guided by five strategic goals: strengthening basic education, fostering smart education, leading in quality and balance, focusing on innovative talent, and serving as a window for educational openness.
The area will also be home to the National Regional University Technology Transfer and Transformation Center (Chongqing) and the Chengdu-Chongqing Area "Belt and Road" International Technology Transfer Center.
Nanyang Technological University will establish a research institute in Liangjiang, while the second phase of the National University of Singapore's research institute will soon commence construction.
