Liangjiang New Area achieves economic milestone in 2024

In 2024, the GDP of the Liangjiang New Area in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality surpassed 500 billion yuan ($68.66 billion), marking a new milestone in both economic scale and comprehensive strength.

Over the past year, Liangjiang accelerated its development in the aerospace and space information industries. Focusing on satellites and their applications, aerospace new materials, and the low-altitude economy, Liangjiang has attracted over 190 enterprises in the aerospace information industry, with its newly established market entities accounting for 90 percent of Chongqing's total.

In 2024, Liangjiang saw the addition of 210 high-tech enterprises and 700 tech-oriented companies, bringing the total to 1,140 high-tech enterprises and 6,000 tech companies, maintaining the top position in the city.

Last year, Liangjiang made strong efforts to promote the high-quality development of individual businesses, registering 15,700 new individual businesses throughout the year.

In 2025, the area will further concentrate efforts and resources on strengthening the real economy. To make life easier for enterprises, it will implement new policies, offer more resources, and optimize the business environment.
