The critical 2026 FIFA World Cup Asian Qualifier between China's national men's team and Bahrain will take place at Chongqing Longxing Soccer Stadium in Liangjiang New Area on June 10. This match will determine whether China advances in the qualifiers or instead begins preparations for the 2030 World Cup.
Chongqing Longxing Soccer Stadium spans approximately 303 mu (20.2 hectares), boasts a total construction area of 167,000 square meters, and accommodates 60,000 spectators. Since its opening in 2023, the stadium has become a cultural and entertainment landmark for Chongqing, hosting numerous high-profile domestic and international football matches alongside over 90 concerts and large-scale cultural events.
"We are dedicated to ensuring that all preparations are in place to offer fans an exceptional viewing experience," said Zhou Jianguo, a stadium management representative.
The stadium will host the second round of the 2025 Chinese FA Cup on April 20, in which Chongqing Chunlei will compete against Guangdong Guangzhou Leopard, a China League One team. The 15th National Games Adult Women's Football Qualification Tournament will commence at the stadium on April 26.
On April 11, Chongqing Chunlei secured a 2-1 victory over Yunnan Cuanhe, advancing to the National Finals of the Chinese Champions League Top 16. All subsequent home matches for Chongqing Chunlei will be held at the stadium.
