Chongqing, UAE strengthen economic partnerships

The China (Chongqing) - UAE Economic and Trade Investment Promotion Conference took place on May 23 as part of the seventh Western China International Fair for Investment and Trade (WCIFIT), marking a significant step in enhancing economic ties between Chongqing and the UAE.

Liangjiang New Area, a key industrial hub in Chongqing, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Free Zone Authority of Ajman. This agreement aims to establish a policy dialogue mechanism, foster industrial collaboration, and facilitate exchanges.

It also aims to promote the establishment of an Ajman Free Trade Zone office in Chongqing, fostering cooperation across economic, cultural, and tourism projects between China and the UAE. The initiative will offer comprehensive support and services to businesses from both countries.

Several companies from Liangjiang have already forged partnerships with UAE entities. Changan Automobile's Avatr brand has entered into a strategic cooperation agreement with a UAE distributor and launched its brand in Dubai.

The conference also featured the release of the "China (Chongqing) - UAE Economic and Trade Investment Cooperation Report", which highlights collaboration cases between Chongqing and the UAE.

Officials from Liangjiang presented the area's open platform, industrial development, and favorable business environment, underscoring the region's commitment to fostering international partnerships.
