Chengdu and Chongqing have begun construction on the "Belt and Road" International Technology Transfer Center.
The center is a collaborative effort between the Sichuan Science and Technology Exchange Center and the Chongqing Liangjiang New Area Administrative Committee. It aims to develop a comprehensive international technology transfer system by partnering with universities, technology transfer institutions, tech parks, research institutes, and tech enterprises.
The regions plan to consolidate international technology transfer resources by establishing databases for demand, projects, and experts. They will form a professional service team and create an information service platform.
An alliance of international technology transfer service institutions will be established to enhance cooperation with entities such as the China-Africa Innovation Cooperation Center and the China-ASEAN Technology Transfer Center.
The regions aim to cultivate professionals skilled in international technology transfer. This will be achieved through regular training sessions on advanced applicable technologies and science and technology innovation management, along with international technology broker training.
Chengdu and Chongqing will host events like advanced technology exhibitions and innovation and entrepreneurship competitions. They will also regularly release science and technology innovation cooperation opportunities and conduct periodic project roadshows and matchmaking activities.
The two sides plan to establish more than 20 international technology transfer nodes with partner countries over the next three years, facilitate over 100 international cooperation projects, and provide international technology training for over 1,500 participants.
