Liangjiang New Area unveiled its ambitious plans to establish a green, low-carbon environmental industrial cluster on June 5.

The cluster is designed to spearhead the green transformation of manufacturing and the evolution of the environmental industry, with a focus on resource recycling and low-carbon energy-saving strategies.

The cluster will involve establishing one "Low-Carbon Environmental Service Innovation Base" and developing two core industrial parks: the "Resource Recycling Industrial Park" and the "Intelligent Environmental Equipment and Materials Industrial Park".

Zhang Li, deputy director of the Liangjiang administrative committee, extended a warm invitation to partners across various sectors to capitalize on the burgeoning opportunities in green development.

Zhang emphasized the area's robust industrial foundation and promising future, highlighting its focus on automobiles, electronics, and software, new energy storage, life and health, and intelligent equipment.

Liangjiang also boasts major hubs such as Guoyuan Port and the Lianglu Guoyuan Port Comprehensive Bonded Zone. The area has attracted 190 Fortune Global 500 companies, representing 60 percent of Chongqing's total.

Liangjiang has attracted 94 environmental companies generating annual revenue exceeding 20 billion yuan ($2.78 billion). This industrial cluster, led by major players like SPIC Yuanda Environmental Protection Co and CISDI Thermal, facilitates the coordinated advancement of SMEs and innovation entities, covering all core areas of the environmental sector.

"By the end of 2030, we aim to nurture over 100 large-scale enterprises, creating a 30 billion yuan low-carbon industrial cluster and propelling the city's green low-carbon environmental industry to an output of more than 200 billion yuan," said Zhang.
