Chongqing Haifu Medical Technology Co held a shipment ceremony on June 10, celebrating the export of its Haifu Knife Focused Ultrasound Tumor Therapy System to Uruguay.
This milestone marks the expansion of this Chinese-originated large-scale medical equipment to 34 countries and regions worldwide. In Latin America, countries including Mexico, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Colombia, and Argentina have already adopted this innovative system for non-invasive Focused Ultrasound Ablation Surgery (FUAS).
The Haifu Knife is designed for the treatment of both benign and malignant solid tumors, including uterine fibroids, adenomyosis, breast fibroadenoma, liver cancer, pancreatic cancer, and breast cancer. In the field of gynecology, this technology is particularly significant as it preserves the structure and function of organs, safeguarding women's fertility.
"Focused ultrasound represents a major breakthrough in non-invasive treatment. For Uruguay, it signifies a technological innovation and a new therapeutic approach," praised Dr Gaston Keel, director of San Jose Hospital in Uruguay. “Performing surgery without incisions and achieving excellent clinical outcomes reflects profound respect and care for patients."
Liu Chao, general manager of Haifu Technology, highlighted that this project will deepen cooperation between China and Uruguay in the healthcare sector, serving over 3 million people and helping patients achieve non-invasive tumor treatment.
By the end of 2024, the Haifu Knife had treated over 320,000 patients with benign and malignant tumors, making it the most widely used and well-documented device in terms of safety and efficacy in this field.
