The 2025 Chongqing 15-Minute Convenient Living Festival began on June 20 in Liangjiang New Area, marking a key milestone in enhancing urban services through the "15-Minute Convenient Living Circle".
This initiative integrates consumption, convenient services, and cultural experiences, meeting lifestyle needs like shopping, leisure, elderly care, and exercise within a 15-minute walk from people's homes.
Local official Zhang Kui emphasized the circle's role in boosting citizens' quality of life and community wellbeing. The city plans to enhance policy guidance, address community needs, and encourage innovative business models to transform these circles into "happiness circles".
Gan Jingming from Liangjiang noted that over 80 percent of the area is covered by the circle, benefiting 800,000 residents with a satisfaction rate of over 90 percent. The area aims for full coverage in all subdistricts by the end of the year, integrating the circles with the urban renewal and digital economy initiatives.
The festival saw the launch of a WeChat mini-program with over 100 types of services, including minor repairs and supermarket services. Meituan introduced a dynamic map showing the density of services in different areas.
The event featured themed zones for test drives, smart home appliances, and intelligent housekeeping. Companies such as IKEA and Suning showcased products, while attendees enjoyed free health checks and interactive games.
Running until July, the festival has partnered with businesses such as the Chongqing Department Store to launch 2,000 brand celebrations. Since 2021, Chongqing's 15-Minute Convenience Living Circle has set a national standard, highlighted by successes in Liangjiang and Jiulongpo.
