Chongqing is capitalizing on its strategic geographical position and strong manufacturing capabilities to align with Europe's industrial dynamics.

GKN Driveline System Chongqing Co in Liangjiang New Area, a Sino-British joint venture, is producing state-of-the-art drive shafts. These components, essential for high-end domestic new energy vehicles, offer precise wheel hub engagement, reduce transmission noise, and enhance torque capacity, improving driving comfort and safety.

In Yongchuan district's Sino-German (Chongqing) Intelligent Industrial Park, SW Machines, a global leader in multi-spindle machining centers, has established a significant presence since arriving in 2019. The company has established a comprehensive center for the production, assembly, service, and sales of hydraulic manufacturing equipment.

The industrial park has created a comprehensive high-end equipment industrial chain that integrates production, R&D, and testing.

Chongqing is currently home to 57 German and 39 British enterprises, encompassing the manufacturing, scientific research, technical services, and financial sectors. From January to April, Chongqing's trade with Europe surpassed 40 billion yuan ($5.58 billion).

Qian Lijuan, a local official, said, "Authorities are planning to attract more premium European enterprises by building more platforms and creating greater opportunities. The city is committed to providing excellent services to existing foreign enterprises and aims to strengthen cooperation with Europe in intelligent connected new energy vehicles and advanced materials."
