A train carrying automotive parts departed on June 27 from Yuzui Station in Liangjiang New Area, Chongqing, bound for the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, marking the inauguration of the first specialized railway line dedicated to transporting automotive parts betweenthe two regions.

In Chongqing, the train collected and loaded goods directly from factories, utilizing the main railway line for seamless point-to-point delivery. Upon arrival in Xinjiang, logistics partners ensured smooth connections for the containers.

This rail service offers significant advantages over traditional road transport, reducing transit time by 50 percent and lowering logistics costs per container.

This specialized line also connects with existing international channels, forming a comprehensive logistics network that links the Yangtze River Economic Belt with the Silk Road Economic Belt.

"This collaboration represents a significant breakthrough in enhancing the automotive industry's supply chain," said He Yu, an economist at the Chongqing Railway Logistics Center. Plans are in place to double the route's transport volume by 2026 and explore additional railway transport solutions for local Chongqing products.
