Liangjiang New Area is spearheading the advancement of the inspection and testing industry to drive industrial expansion. It is forming a cutting-edge service industrial cluster in inspection and testing.
Authorities have devised measures to offer financial backing to inspection and testing entities that have garnered recognition from the National Quality Inspection Center, achieved initial CMA qualification, or obtained CNAS accreditation.
The area is home to 82 certified inspection and testing institutions, including 13 national quality inspection centers, comprising 65 percent of Chongqing's total. As of 2024, institutions with CMA qualifications had generated revenue exceeding 5.5 billion yuan ($766 million), accounting for 40 percent of the city's total.
Liangjiang is intensifying efforts to attract and nurture institutions and foster synergistic growth between manufacturing and inspection and testing services. Initiatives such as the Chongqing Testing Technology Base of the China Inspection Southwest Regional Center have been introduced to bolster coordinated development within the industry.
Liangjiang has also unveiled a pioneering "one-stop" smart service platform for quality infrastructure, known as the NQI platform, which brings together the resources of inspection and testing institutions to offer a comprehensive suite of services spanning inspection, testing certification, measurement, standards, and more.
Zhang Li, deputy director of the Liangjiang New Area administrative committee, has outlined plans to bolster the inspection and testing sector in alignment with the "11346" framework.
This initiative includes the creation of a demonstration area, an industry alliance, three industrial platforms, four distinctive inspection and testing industrial parks, and six quality infrastructure workstations.
