Liangjiang New Area has provided "health packages" to nearly 1,000 seniors who live alone or face mobility challenges. This initiative is part of a broader effort to promote the well-being of vulnerable groups.

Authorities have established an innovative four-tier support platform to bridge service gaps for seniors, allowing volunteers and staff members to identify and meet their needs.

With 15 frequently accessed social security and medical insurance services available, ranging from reissuing social security cards and maintaining medical insurance accounts to pension qualification certification and special disease applications, seniors can make requests from the comfort of their homes.

Volunteers play a crucial role in educating seniors about new medical insurance policies and pension adjustments, using local dialects to ensure understanding. They also dissect the latest fraud cases targeting the elderly to enhance their awareness and prevention capabilities.

They also distribute cooling supplies and medical items, install flashing doorbells for those with hearing impairments, and provide walking sticks to those with mobility challenges.
