The restoration and conservation project for the Tiangongdian sub-district in Liangjiang New Area commenced construction on July 21. Among the heritage sites undergoing restoration is the Renhe Jiexiao Memorial Archway.

The archway is weathered, partially faded, has lost some intricate carvings, and suffers from stubborn stains and moss growth. Restoration procedures will involve surface cleaning, microbial control, structural reinforcement, and anti-weathering treatment.

Workers will first remove dust and plant growth from the surface of the memorial archway. Then, hydrogen peroxide will be applied to remove microorganisms, followed by protective treatment with ammonia salts. A special repair material, which is a mixture of acrylic lotion and fine sand, will be applied to existing cracks.

The entire restoration project is scheduled for completion in October, spanning approximately three months.
