Liangjiang's automobile industry performs impressively in H1

The automobile industry in Chongqing's Liangjiang New Area is accelerating into a new stage supported by intelligent technology.

The industry achieved a production value of 125.62 billion yuan ($17.47 billion), an increase of 12.9 percent year-on-year. Production reached 602,000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 5.3 percent, accounting for over 49 percent of Chongqing's total. Among them, the production of new energy vehicles was 364,000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 82.9 percent.

Continuous breakthroughs in technology have injected new momentum into Liangjiang's automotive industry. Changan Automobile has launched cutting-edge technologies such as "New Blue Whale Power," Golden Bell Cover Batteries, and the SDA Smart Platform. It has also built a matrix of three new energy brands: Deep Blue, Avita, and Qiyuan.

Exports have also been a significant highlight of Liangjiang's automotive industry, with vehicle companies represented by Changan Automobile, Changan Ford, and SAIC GM Wuling achieving a cumulative export value of 10.16 billion yuan in the first half of this year, a year-on-year increase of 273.3 percent.

By the end of 2025, Changan Automobile will expand into at least 10 regional markets in Europe, and within the next three years, it will establish over 1,000 sales and service outlets in Europe.

From January to June, automobile companies such as Changan Automobile and Ruilan declared exports of 26,400 complete vehicles at Guoyuan Port, a year-on-year increase of 25 percent, with a goods value of 2.41 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 24 percent.
