The Trade and Economic Multifunctional Platform for SCO Countries, established in Chongqing Liangjiang New Area in 2019, has facilitated nearly 30 billion yuan ($4.20 billion) in foreign investment, boosting trade relations between Chongqing and SCO countries.
The platform offers comprehensive global supply chain services, supporting the international expansion and economic cooperation of industries across SCO countries.
Hu Kaiqiang, director-general of the platform, said that the organization encompasses 31 industry working committees and includes over 1,700 domestic and international organizational members.
This makes it a vital bridge for fostering economic and trade cooperation, cultural exchanges among SCO countries, and assisting local governments in attracting investments to achieve high-quality development and openness.
A prime example of the platform's success is Mensha Group, headquartered in Dubai, UAE. The group operates in diverse sectors, including financial management, traditional and renewable energy, fintech and payments, real estate and mortgages, and investment management consulting.
With the platform's support, Mensha Group has experienced rapid growth in the UAE. Du Zhiyong, vice-president of Mensha Group, said that the company is accelerating the establishment of industry working committees for the Middle East and North Africa on the platform, offering comprehensive services for Chinese enterprises aiming to expand and establish a presence in these regions.
The platform has also facilitated business collaborations between domestic enterprises and countries such as Uzbekistan and Pakistan in industries such as energy and education.
Hu emphasized that the platform utilizes the complementary industrial structures and vast market cooperation opportunities between China and other SCO members. It is pioneering innovative models of international industrial collaboration through its industry working committees, fostering deeper cooperation between China and other member countries.
