The Low-Altitude Industry Ecosystem Conference was held on Sept 7 in Liangjiang New Area, Chongqing, as part of the 2025 World Smart Industry Expo series.

This significant event brought together leading experts and government officials from institutions and companies such as the Beijing Institute of Technology, China Unicom, and Tencent Cloud.

The conference aimed to explore new development paths and models for the low-altitude industry in Southwest China, with a particular focus on emergency rescue scenarios, low-altitude logistics, and cultural tourism.

Chongqing, a mega-city known for its unique blend of mountainous landscapes and industrial strength, has made notable strides in developing its low-altitude economy. In the first half of 2025 alone, the city recorded 190,000 hours of low-altitude flight time, a 109 percent increase year-on-year, with 1.16 million flights, a 67 percent rise.

Tian Zhong, deputy Party secretary of the Liangjiang New Area administrative committee, said that authorities aim to accelerate the implementation of "low-altitude+" application scenarios by utilizing the area's strengths in smart connected new energy vehicles, AI and software information, high-end equipment, and biomedicine.

The goal is to create model applications such as "low-altitude+smart city", "low-altitude+logistics", and "low-altitude+cultural tourism".

Tu Xingyong, deputy director of the Chongqing Economic and Information Technology Commission, said that Chongqing plans to continue promoting the development of a comprehensive management service platform for low-altitude flights, develop iconic "low-altitude+" scenarios, and strengthen the low-altitude manufacturing industry.

New low-altitude scenarios were unveiled and major agreements were signed to build an aviation logistics hub and promote strategic cooperation in the low-altitude economy.

An exhibition featuring achievements in low-altitude economic technology and equipment was also held, showcasing 117 products covering three major areas: complete machines, components, and testing equipment.
