At the opening ceremony of the World Smart Industry Expo 2025 on Friday at the Chongqing International Expo Center, projects were signed that attracted investments of more than 200 billion yuan ($28 billion).
Zheng Xiangdong, vice-mayor of Chongqing, said the projects cover a wide range of sectors, including intelligent connected new energy vehicles, electronic information, advanced materials, smart equipment, intelligent manufacturing, software, information services, food, agricultural processing and the low-altitude economy.
The event, which will run until Monday at both the expo center and the Yuelai International Convention Center and features more than 600 leading domestic and international companies showcasing more than 3,000 innovative products, technologies, and achievements.
The indoor exhibition area covers 130,000 square meters, while the outdoor experience area spans 40,000 sq m, the organizing committee said.
With a focus on artificial intelligence, the expo embraces the theme "Pooling Together Wisdom and Strength", along with the AI Plus initiative and intelligent NEVs.
During the expo, multiple themed activities, industry matchmaking events and professional competitions will be held, including the fifth Chang'an Automobile Technology Ecosystem Conference, a thematic session on intelligent equipment and RoboCup Asia-Pacific 2025.
The current expo is co-hosted by the governments of Chongqing and Tianjin.
