Chongqing, South Korea seek further AI cooperation

The Chongqing-Gyeonggi AI Enterprise Exchange Meeting was held on Sept 23 in Liangjiang New Area, bringing together representatives from AI-related sectors and enterprises from both regions to discuss industry development and explore cooperation opportunities.

Xiao Hong, deputy general manager of Liangjiang Industry Co, emphasized the area's robust foundation in the automotive and electronic information industries. He highlighted its mature ecosystem in innovation services, incubation platforms, and tech finance.

Xiao extended an investment invitation to the entrepreneurs, saying, "Liangjiang is committed to creating a market-oriented and international business environment. It hosts 41 foreign-related institutions and over 1,300 foreign-funded enterprises, with the total foreign trade import and export volume accounting for 40 percent of the city's total in 2024."

Kim Ki-byeong, director of the Gyeonggi AI Bureau, introduced the AI landscape in Gyeonggi, noting that the region is home to 30 percent of South Korea's industries, including semiconductors and artificial intelligence.

Kim expressed hope for expanded collaboration across various sectors and ongoing exchanges in AI industry clusters.

Representatives of Liangjiang AI companies, such as Theseus Tech and Sevnce Robotics, engaged in discussions with nine leading Korean companies, including NHN Cloud, AIWORKX, and AeiROBOT, to share technological highlights and explore cooperation opportunities.

The South Korean government and enterprise delegation visited Sevnce Robotics to gain insights into the company's development and discuss potential cooperation in the AI field.
