Under its Future Industries Action Plan, the city is advancing six high-growth sectors: space information, bio-manufacturing, advanced materials, hydrogen, nuclear energy and new storage, artificial intelligence, and the low-altitude economy, alongside three high-potential fields: brain-computer interface, photonics and quantum, and immersive technologies.
The city has nurtured 21 national-level innovation-driven small- and medium-sized enterprises. For example, Theseus in Liangjiang New Area has developed AI-powered vision equipment with a defect detection accuracy rate of above 99.99 percent, setting a benchmark in western China as the first of its kind.
Chongqing has also launched two municipal-level future industry pilot zones as important incubators. Liangjiang New Area, which focuses on aerospace, has attracted over 240 enterprises and established a comprehensive supply chain, spanning satellite manufacturing to rocket launches and applications.
