Liangjiang New Area has become a beacon of innovation and industrial integration, with its emphasis on "Sci-Tech + Industry" yielding remarkable results in recent years.
As of August, the area's strategic emerging manufacturing industries had seen their output value surpass 60 percent, supported by a robust R&D investment rate of 6.7 percent.
Central to this innovation surge is the Liangjiang Collaborative Innovation Zone. The zone has attracted over 50 prestigious research institutions, including those affiliated with the Beijing Institute of Technology and the National University of Singapore.
By utilizing an integrated "team + platform + project" model, the zone has birthed over 800 innovative enterprises, including Lanshan Electronics, a key player in automotive-grade chips, and Lianghang Metal, whose products are integral to China's indigenous large aircraft.
The Mingyue Lake Laboratory, one of Chongqing's four major labs, underscores the area's global leadership in technological advancements.
A distinctive feature of Liangjiang's initiative is its comprehensive "science enterprise – high-tech enterprise – specialized and sophisticated enterprise – leading enterprise" development system.
The area is home to over 6,300 science enterprises, 1,300 high-tech enterprises, and nearly 700 specialized and sophisticated enterprises at the municipal level. It has also launched 33 national R&D innovation platforms and over 500 municipal-level innovation platforms.
Liangjiang is also investing in emerging sectors such as the low-altitude economy, satellite internet, AI + robotics, and advanced new materials. The area has established a "Belt and Road" International Technology Transfer Center, fostering a 500-strong innovation support team and building over 50 specialized concept verification centers and pilot platforms.
