The new plant, located in the Benjamin William Mkapa Special Economic Zone and with investments exceeding 13 million yuan ($1.83 million), will produce high- and low-voltage power distribution products, medical doors and windows, and filter consumables.
"Dar es Salaam is the former capital of Tanzania and the gateway to East Africa. It is a regional trade hub with a strategic location, well-developed infrastructure, and convenient transportation," said Long Tao, head of the Oraw intelligent control team.
"Setting up a factory here allows us to cover six East African markets, including Zambia and Burundi," Long added, saying that by utilizing opportunities under the Belt and Road Initiative, the company aims to cut logistics and labor costs while reducing circulation losses.
Tanzania has been a key part of Oraw's ongoing expansion roadmap, serving as a bridgehead for the company's business in Africa.
"Tanzania offers stable policies, abundant resources, low labor costs, and strong demand for basic materials," said Yin Pengfei, an ORAW technical expert. "During multiple field visits, we found that many global companies are already investing in Tanzania. Competition will be fierce, and challenges are inevitable, but we're confident Oraw can gain a firm foothold in the international arena."
Oraw is also accelerating its expansion into Southeast Asia, Africa, Europe, and the United States. In the first half of 2025, the company completed three shipments of intelligent power distribution cabinets and related products to Tanzania, totaling a transaction value exceeding 10 million yuan.
Oraw is focusing on digital air volume control, nano antibacterial technology, split-cycle recovery, molecular disinfection, and smart control and cloud management systems. Powered by AI, the company is building four global product lines, including digital clean air-conditioning, smart ventilation, air purification and disinfection, and intelligent control systems.
