Two cargo ships recently completed a successful voyage, carrying 20 standard containers of quartz sand from Chongqing's Guoyuan Port to Dujing Port in Nanchong, Sichuan province.
The milestone marks the commencement of regular operations for the container liner route managed by Minsheng Logistics, linking Jiangsu province, Guoyuan Port, and Nanchong.
The cargo traveled via the Grand Canal and the Yangtze River, making a transit stop at Guoyuan Port before proceeding upstream along the Jialing River to Nanchong. The route connects the east-west waterway with the upper Yangtze River tributary shipping.
Minsheng Logistics has established a "full-load round-trip" logistics cycle. Once the containers are unloaded in Nanchong, the ships are reloaded with chemical products for their return journey along the Yangtze River, improving vessel utilization and route efficiency.
The container throughput on this route exceeded 100 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in the first three quarters of this year. Regular operation of the route is expected to reduce logistics costs for shippers by over 20 percent.
