An AITO M9 rolled off the production line on Jan 13 at the Seres Super Factory in Chongqing Liangjiang New Area, marking AITO's 1 millionth new energy vehicle (NEV).

The milestone was achieved in just 46 months, underscoring Seres' rapid growth since its strategic partnership with Huawei began in 2021. This collaboration launched the AITO M5, the first model to feature Huawei's HarmonyOS cockpit and intelligent driving technology at scale.

The partnership has since expanded to include four major series: the M5, M7, M8, and M9, challenging foreign brands' dominance in the high-end market. The AITO M9 alone has delivered 270,000 units, leading domestic sales for high-end models priced over 500,000 yuan ($71,700) for 21 consecutive months.

The achievement highlights the collaborative capabilities of Liangjiang's entire industrial chain, which emphasizes a "clustered layout + innovative collaboration" strategy to foster rapid corporate growth.

A key innovation is the "factory-in-factory" model, pioneered by Seres, which enhances supply chain efficiency. In June 2025, CATL established this model at the Seres Super Factory, enabling local production and immediate supply of power batteries, with the process of Seres issuing an order to CATL adjusting its production now taking only 20 minutes.

Key suppliers such as Wencan and Yanfeng have also joined, creating a synchronized "vehicle production + component supply" system. Seres has streamlined its supplier base from 300 to 100, reducing communication costs by over 30 percent and boosting supply chain innovation by 50 percent.

This collaborative model is becoming a "new paradigm" for China's automotive industry. With strong support from Liangjiang, Chongqing's automotive industry achieved a 9.7 percent increase in vehicle production in 2025, reaching 2.79 million units, while NEV production rose by 36 percent to 1.3 million units, with industrial output surpassing 800 billion yuan.
