The development of Chongqing Luoqi Port is advancing at an impressive pace, with the first phase of construction making significant progress.
The port, which is being executed in three phases, represents a substantial investment of approximately 15 billion yuan ($2.15 billion).
It will feature 15 berths capable of accommodating 5,000-metric-ton ships, with a total annual throughput capacity of 35 million tons. The first phase alone will introduce five berths, bringing yearly throughput capacity to 16.5 million tons.
The port will support the transportation of bulk goods, roll-on/roll-off vehicles, general cargo, and domestic trade containers. It will also offer integrated services, including logistics, warehousing, trade, bonded services, and urban distribution, becoming the largest rail-water-road multimodal trade hub in Chongqing's central urban area and supporting the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, and the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor.
