Chongqing Longxing Airport receives international recognition

Chongqing Longxing Airport in Liangjiang New Area has been awarded the "CQL" code by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), a significant milestone marking the airport's entry into the international air transport network.

"This recognition gives the airport its own 'international ID'", said an airport representative. "With this three-letter code, we can now facilitate ticket sales on online platforms."

The code also opens up new possibilities for passengers, who can now look forward to flights and charter trips to destinations such as Xiannyu Mountain. As Chongqing's sole general aviation airport in the central urban area, Longxing is well-positioned to expand short-haul air transport routes in the future.

The code sets the stage for broader general aviation services, including short-haul transport and aviation tourism, and paves the way for growth in areas such as commercial pilot training, international air shows, and low-altitude logistics.

Specifically, in the field of low-altitude logistics, the code acts as a crucial logistics node identifier and integrates into the national air cargo tracking system, thereby improving the efficiency and traceability of future low-altitude cargo operations.
