Liangjiang ancient town celebrates Spring Festival: Tradition meets modernity

Longxing Ancient Town in Liangjiang New Area will host an immersive Spring Festival celebration from Feb 13 to 23, offering visitors a delightful Chinese New Year experience that bridges past and present.

The event will showcase the cultural essence of the ancient town, presenting the charm of traditional festivals in creative, modern ways and highlighting a blend of historic atmosphere and contemporary fun.

Visitors can enjoy folk performances including the mesmerizing Sichuan Opera face-changing and dynamic drum shows.

Attendees can also take part in hands-on activities such as sugar painting and savor a variety of traditional festival delicacies.

The event also features a music festival, a cheongsam flash mob, and themed scenes that showcase the historic town's youthful vitality.

Businesses will offer special discounts on food, accommodation, and specialty products, ensuring visitors enjoy excellent value for money.

Street decorations throughout the town have been refreshed to create a festive atmosphere. Special installations adorn the three main entrances: a horse-themed display at the main archway, cartoon auspicious beast standees at the North Gate Stage, and red bamboo streamers along the covered walkway.

Shops will be decorated with flags and strings of red lanterns, while windows and doors will be embellished with Spring Festival couplets and stickers, blending the town's rustic charm with a rich festive spirit.
