Agricultural Bank of China launches digital business operation center in Liangjiang

The Agricultural Bank of China (ABC) launched its digital business operation center on Feb 3 in Chongqing Liangjiang New Area.

Liu Weijie, general manager of ABC's Operations Management Department, and Zheng Hang, deputy director of the Liangjiang New Area administrative committee, attended the inauguration ceremony.

Liu emphasized that the center is part of ABC's commitment to strengthening its digital financial infrastructure and aims to develop a highly integrated enterprise-level back-office service system that supports the bank's digital transformation and growth.

The center will focus on digital operations, big data analysis, and innovative research and development, offering agile and intelligent financial services to customers. It will also play a crucial role in attracting and nurturing high-caliber financial professionals, contributing to Chongqing's development as a leading financial hub in western China.

Zheng highlighted the importance of finance as a core pillar industry in Liangjiang, which currently hosts 1,141 financial institutions, including 154 financial headquarters with over 20 types of financial licenses.

The region's financial sector manages assets totaling 3.7 trillion yuan ($533 billion), with more than 30 funds channeling over 200 billion yuan into social investment. Authorities will work with ABC on infrastructure development, inclusive finance, and digital finance to foster innovation, build business platforms, and develop talent.

The center will focus on card issuance, authorization, and operations, while also optimizing support processes for corporate business lines and advancing the design and implementation of operational process optimization projects.

It will execute centralized control and intelligent operations for critical financial service processes, supporting the growth of digital finance in Liangjiang and contributing to the high-quality development of Chongqing's financial sector.

ABC has established several key institutions in Liangjiang, including a remote banking center, a digital risk control center, and the Chongqing branch of ABC Life Insurance. The Chongqing branch tailors its services to local industrial development needs by implementing a "one enterprise, one policy" service mechanism and providing comprehensive "investment, loan, bond, and stock" services.

It has also introduced innovative service models, such as "one project, one solution" and combined "on-site + remote" operations, to support key projects, financing, inclusive loans, and consumer demand.
