The China Huaneng Chongqing Liangjiang Gas Turbine's distributed photovoltaic power facility has connected to the grid at full capacity, delivering its green electricity and marking a pivotal advancement in the green transformation of Southwest China's largest natural gas clean energy base.

The facility has installed over 6,600 high-efficiency heterojunction photovoltaic modules, boasting a direct current capacity of approximately 4.75 megawatts and an alternating current capacity of about 4.5 MW.

"Photovoltaic power generation offers significant advantages, including being noise-free, pollution-free, and capable of local consumption," said a representative from the Liangjiang Gas Turbine. "The plant is expected to generate around 4,500 kilowatt-hours of 'zero-carbon' electricity per hour in summer, fulfilling its requirements for office work, lighting, and production."

The second phase of this facility has a total installed capacity of 2,418 MW, representing 14.69 percent of Chongqing's total thermal power capacity. Utilizing advanced 9H-class gas turbine technology known for its high thermal efficiency, it plays a crucial role in Chongqing's power grid, particularly for peak regulation, emergencies, and supply assurance.

"This facility offers replicable insights for exploring energy-saving and carbon-reduction strategies in industrial settings," the representative added, saying that it will further research related technologies, accelerate the development of centralized and distributed new energy sources, and provide comprehensive "zero-carbon park" solutions.
